The COMESA-EAC-SADC Tripartite has established an Infrastructure Project Preparation and Implementation Unit to be based in Lusaka, Zambia.The PPIU is looking to appoint a highly experienced Driver to provide effective and efficient chauffeur services and general office support duties to the PPIU.

The Office Driver should have the following skills and experience:
- Must be a resident of the Republic of Zambia
- A minimum educational level of Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Extensive experience and functioning as an office driver
- Experience of working in a donor funded project environment
- Basic knowledge of MS Office software packages;
- Reliable, trustworthy and able to work under pressure with limited supervision;
- Proactive, accuracy and attention to detail and multi- tasking abilities; and
- Must be a team player. The ability to work as one of a team of staff from different nationalities and backgrounds is of considerable importance.
The Driver/Office Assistant will perform the following tasks:
- Provide safe and reliable chauffeur services to the PPIU and visitors
- Maintain a logbook for the project vehicle/s, ensuring all trips (km’s), and services are recorded
- Ensure project vehicle maintenance plan is adhered to by taking vehicle for regular services and check-ups at dealership, and maintaining oil and tyre pressure
- Maintain a full tank of petrol at all times, requesting top-ups from the petty cash float as required
- Report any misuse or damages to the vehicle immediately to COMESA, and keep records of the reports and actions taken
- Collection and delivery and bank deposits
- Reception and switchboard relief duties
- Provide general office assistance to the project administrator and PPIU staff as required, including assisting with photocopying, meeting logistics, filing etc.
- Perform any other relevant tasks as determined by the PPIU.
