Gender and Trade in East Africa: A Review of the Literature February 2010 The following is a review of literature on gender and trade in East Africa. It is focused on the countries of the East African Community (EAC) (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda) and on the gender dimensions of regional integration and trade facilitation. The study will be used to inform the gender approach of DFID’s TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) program as well as other work on trade, gender and development. The review is aimed at policymakers and practitioners with different degrees of understanding about gender and trade. |
