In May we look into energy in the COMESA-EAC-SADC Tripartite Region. Currently, available electricity generation capacity is insufficient in relation to demand and supply is unreliable, despite the existence of rich energy resources. We explore the role regional electricity trade could play in providing cheaper, more reliable power to boost economic growth. We also focus on priority power transmission projects that will strengthen and link regional power markets in the Tripartite area.
